- Applications
- Immunofluorescence
- Confocal microscopy on immunofluorescently detected ATG10 in cytospin-isolated human white blood cells using rabbit ATG10 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB0732) at a dilution of 1 : 100, incubated for 1 hr at room temperature. The cells stained for ATG10 appear in red. The cells were then counter stained with Hoechst Dye (blue colour) . Here, the merged picture is presented. More information on the staining : Fixation : In acetone for 90 seconds. Antibody dilutions : Primary antibody was diluted 1 : 100 and incubated for 1 hr, washed then 3x, and the secondary (Goat anti Rb 1 : 100 alexa 546 conjugate) was incubated for 30 minutes. Magnification 80X.

- Gene Summary:
- Autophagy is a process for the bulk degradation of cytosolic compartments by lysosomes. ATG10 is an E2-like enzyme involved in 2 ubiquitin-like modifications essential for autophagosome formation: ATG12 (MIM 609608)-ATG5 (MIM 604261) conjugation and modification of a soluble form of MAP-LC3 (MAP1LC3A; MIM 601242), a homolog of yeast Apg8, to a membrane-bound form (Nemoto et al., 2003 [PubMed 12890687]).[supplied by OMIM
